Alliant Energy Expands Use of Skire Unifier

New Five Year Contract for Unifier as Enterprise Capital Project & Program Management System

MENLO PARK, Calif., May 16, 2011 — Skire, Inc. ( www.skire.com ), the leading global provider of cloud-based solutions for managing capital projects, facilities and real estate, today announced that Alliant Energy Corporate Services, Inc. (Alliant Energy) signed a new five year contract to leverage Unifier’s complete Capital Project and Program Management capabilities. Alliant Energy has been a Skire customer over the last several years, utilizing Unifier for document management, collaboration, bid management and business process automation. Alliant Energy leverages Skire’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution, eliminating the time and cost of maintaining the IT environment required for on-premise solutions.

Alliant Energy Corporation is a regulated, investor-owned public utility holding company providing regulated electric and natural gas service to approximately 1 million electric and 413,000 natural gas customers in the upper Midwestern states of Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota. Alliant Energy’s service territory covers 69,000 square miles in the heartland of America and includes 9,700 miles of electric transmission lines and 8,000 miles of natural gas main. Alliant maintains a strong fleet of fossil fuel and renewable generating facilities across the upper Midwest, generating more than 31 million megawatt hours of electricity each year.

The initial Skire Unifier deployment provided Alliant Energy with a centralized system for collaboration and document controls for over a hundred thousand engineering and construction documents generated over the course of various projects. Following the initial implementation, Alliant Energy expanded the use of Unifier to automate specific business processes, including RFIs, Transmittals, Submittals and Design Reviews, as well as for widespread bid management. The recent contract allows Alliant Energy to continue to expand the use of Unifier in the areas of project management and project controls to increase visibility, efficiency and control across the project portfolio.

“We are very pleased to expand our relationship with Alliant Energy into a strategic partnership that brings the full benefits of Unifier CPPM to their capital program,” said Massy Mehdipour, P.E., chief executive officer at Skire. “Our customers often look to roll out Unifier in some type of phased manner, such as within a business unit like Transmission and Distribution, or for project controls or facility management across the enterprise. We have enjoyed a strong working relationship with Alliant Energy and we look forward to continuing that relationship.”

While the power and utilities industry remains focused on continuous improvement across fundamental corporate goals such as regulatory compliance, renewable energy, supplier diversity and rate case recovery, leading organizations such as Alliant Energy are aware of the value of increasing efficiency, visibility and controls across the construction lifecycle. These efforts support strategic decision making and ensure investments are evaluated, executed and delivered on time, on budget and in alignment with corporate objectives. For over a decade, Skire’s industry leading enterprise lifecycle management software system, Unifier, has helped organizations automate strategic capital planning and construction project execution.
