Massy Mehdipour drives Skire’s strategic direction and operations. She is an accomplished executive whose personal story and business career have been widely chronicled in the press. Massy is a visionary who is motivated by innovation and changing the status quo, especially within the construction and facilities industry.
Since graduating with an Electrical Engineering degree from McGill University, she has worked at three companies, two of which she founded. Massy’s career began at Bechtel, where she worked for over a decade climbing the ranks and earning many accolades, including being the first female put into the field in construction and being the highest ranking female at the time of her departure. While at Bechtel, she managed large-scale projects, operations and maintenance in sectors ranging from oil and gas to technology, and ultimately served as manager of the Microelectronics Business Unit.
Forever grateful to Bechtel for her formative experience, Massy left to pursue her entrepreneurial spirit when she founded Quasar in 1988. Quasar went on to become a highly successful engineering, construction and facilities management company with offices throughout the country and numerous award-winning projects and clients.
Throughout Massy’s years at Bechtel and Quasar, she was an early adopter and proponent of technology dating back to championing CAD and scheduling systems at Bechtel. With the Internet becoming main stream in the late 1990’s, she saw the opportunity to fill the void in the marketplace for an enterprise-class solution to bring collaboration, visibility and control to the world of construction, facilities and real estate.
Massy’s vision when founding Skire in 2000 was to bring to the construction, facilities and real estate industries the level of automation and sophistication that exists in manufacturing. From the beginning, her operating principles were to provide a lifecycle solution, deliver the system via the cloud (before the term was coined), foster an open and collaborative environment in working with customers, employ an innovation and R&D-intensive culture, and provide unparalleled customer support.
Massy earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from McGill University in Canada. She is a registered Professional Engineer in California, Arizona, Maryland, and New York. Massy is an avid golfer and commercial pilot, enjoys personal property development projects, and has two adult children.
